  23. The fan should always be on in the A530. Since it wasn't on when you first
  24. started up I suspect something has overheated and died. Which chip has blown
  25. is hard to tell, though I have a nasty feeling it could be the 68030 CPU,
  26. which runs pretty hot anyway, even when the fan is running. Cooling around
  27. the '030 is hampered by the hard drive directly above it, and the lack of
  28. air flow due to the fan may have proved to be the final straw. Nasty.
